This one features an exquisite beaded butterfly on both front and back in green, pink and blue glass seed beads. The quality stands out on this bag, but unfortunately has seen some wear and tear through time with some loose bead work wanting to be restored, and some staining to the lining. But it really isn’t bad for 80 odd years old! I believe it to date to the late 30s or early 40s.
COLOR:
Cream, white, green, blue, pink, gold, silver.
MATERIAL:
Satin, metal, glass, mesh.
CONDITION:
Lining of bag has small stains and black marks, which look like black ink or makeup.
The metal clasp is tarnished.
The chain is quite shiny and bright, and was possibly added later.
There are various rows of beadwork missing or loose, but the majority of it is intact.
The clasp is also coming loose from the bag at the hinges.
Some of the beads may also be faded in colour.
